De fabrieken moesten ook ingericht worden voor de werknemers. Verlichting en kleedruimtes moesten praktisch zijn. De grootschalige ijzerproductie voorzag zodoende in ijzeren kledingkasten (Lockers) en lampen (de nu bekende fabriekslamp)
